naming a star?

Question: ok - so i'd love to hear your thoughts - it's a novelty gift - you don't really own a star, so, is it a bad gift, or a thoughtful fun gift? if you recieverd one what would you think? been thinking about an unique gift for my nephew/godson's baptism. wanted somethign unusual - other than a bible or something that others will get - so, what are you r thoughts on naming a star - silly, or fun and unique? wow - msbeans - your so "nice" - believe me i've thought of alot of stuff - stocks, the heifer project, yes, even the tree thing...don't judge me!! as you can see in the question - i realize it's a novelty thing - i understand that there rerally isn't a star that's mine - sigh - relax

Answer: I think they're really cool. Depending on where you get it, you get a neat little chart showing you where it is, and a paper explaining the history/definition behind the constellation it's in. I think they're neat, and in a few years, when he understands better, he probably will to. I can see it now-a little boy, going to school, bragging about how his auntie bought him his very own star, then pointing it out to all his friends.
