engine swap buick lesabre w/olds 307 to chevy 327 but i want to use the buicks ac setup what do i need?

Question: i have a 1983 buick lesabre and swapped the olds 307 with a chevy 327 and really would like to keep the buicks ac unit as is

Answer: Oldsmobile blocks and heads and SBC blocks and heads are completely different. The degrees, mounting holes are all different. I am sorry to be the one to tell you this but....you need to get Chevy accessories for your 327. If it's an early style head you probably don't even have any holes thus you asking this question. Most accessories connected to the water pump and block back in the old days. I know for a fact you A/C compressor is on the passenger side of the engine with that Olds 307. If you have holes in your 327 heads you can swap over to a serpentine belt setup from an mid 80 Camaro or Firebird. That will place your A/C compressor on the passenger side. This will keep you from having to get all new lines, and a new condensor. You will still probably have to get the Camaro's A/C compressor though. HTH J
